Drug treatment for Alzheimer’s

Drug therapy is the best for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The effectiveness of the drug treatment for Alzheimer’s disease can be ranked as good. There are two types of drug treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. The first category treatment deals with the symptoms [memory loss, mental deficit etc] of the disease and the second category of the drugs deals with the behavioral changes. The second category drugs are also called the agitation drugs.

The present drug treatment for Alzheimer’s disease is good; the research is still on to improve the present treatment, to make it the best. The scientists are working day and night to find out the drug that can mitigate or totally alleviate the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and to reverse Alzheimer’s disease process, meaning curing it completely.

The testing is to test the efficacy of the drug in correcting the functional ability of the person affected, the efficacy in delaying the onset of the symptoms, and the ability in preventing the behavioral problems that are associated with Alzheimer’s diseases.

There are few other drugs that are used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. These drugs are used to treat the diseases that coexist with Alzheimer’s disease there by affecting the overall health of the person affected with Alzheimer disease. The affected person may have depression, urinary infections, joint pains etc. The drugs that are used to treat the above mentioned conditions cannot be considered as Alzheimer’s disease treatment drugs. The antibiotics used to treat urinary infections and the steroids user to treat arthritis come under this other drugs category.

Now, last but not least, is piece of advice to the care takers of Alzheimer’s disease patient. The care taker must watch the person very closely for the association of any other disease condition along with Alzheimer’s disease. In case any slight doubt, the person must be taken to the doctor at once. This is very important as the Alzheimer' diseased patient cannot communicate his health problems effectively. e
